Olive Oil benefitsA recent study by the University of Barcelona Spain has found a link between virgin olive oil and breast cancer tumors.

Good fats in olive oil stop breast cancer tumors

According to the study, good fats, such as in the case of olive oil, contain antioxidants and are rich in monounsaturated fatty and oleic acids, protect women from developing malignant tumors in the breast.

The study was done on animals and found that olive oil retarded the growth of tumors while also preventing DNA damage within other cells. The study is currently moving on to the next level involving human testing.

However it must be noted that only good fats aid in fighting off breast cancer tumors. Research proves that other fats such as corn oil actually promote the growth of tumor cells.

Experts recommend consuming approximately 50ml of olive oil on a daily basis.
